What is fancy yarn?
Fancy yarn, also called effect or novelty yarn, is produced by deliberately adding effects such as loops, slubs, thickness variations, hairiness or metallic fibres during twisting. These effects create a tactile surface, colour play and volume in knitted or woven fabrics. Bouclé, brushed, slub, metallic and chenille yarns are the best-known types.
